Taeyeon's first Sulwhasoo

 

ELLE: For the first time, the collaboration of Taeyeon and Sulwhasoo. How was the first filming with Sulwhasoo? 

TAEYEON: I want to thank the staff for approaching me kindly and welcoming me. The imagery and the directionality that Sulwhasoo is aiming for was also what I loved. ♥

 

ELLE: You look relaxed now. Even at this filming site and the appearances you show during your album activities.

TAEYEON: Anyhow, from the time I started to appear in entertainment shows on TV, the bright side of me tends to show a lot.

 

ELLE: You stepped into your 30s even before you knew it. What’s the biggest difference with Taeyeon from the 20s and 30s?

TAEYEON: The relaxed vibe, I guess. Compared to the past, now I have more time to look around and take care of my surroundings.

 

ELLE: I heard that you are trying hard to put minimalism into action. Is there anything you gave up on for the life of minimalism? During the process of emptying out, I’m guessing you rather had time to reminisce precious things.

TAEYEON: Clothes are the ones I gave up on the most. Also, make-up products. There were so many new products that I thought I would use someday in the future. From the moment I promised to live a minimalistic life, rather than giving up on something, I tend to have caution before purchasing.

 

ELLE: I attempted to be a minimalist once, but it was so hard to clean up my make-up table. It was so hard to throw each thing out! I’m just wondering how your make-up table would look like. Also, I'm curious about what make-up products you kept.

TAEYEON: The anti-aging cream! As people know I’m a ‘Cosmetic Guru' who has a lot of interest in make-up products. To be good at applying coloured make-up, the health of the skin itself and the flexibility of the skin is thought to be the most important. For that, I focus on what is said to be the basic of the basics, skincare!

 

ELLE: ‘Homebody’ is a famous description of you, but because you have a lot of activities these days you would have make-up on often. Nevertheless, you have beautiful skin, is there a secret method that you have?

TAEYEON: I spend a lot of time on cleansing. Cleansing three times is what I try to do every day to get my make-up off precisely. Also, I put the most effort on the basic make-up steps (like toner, emulsion, cream etc.) for the skin to recover by itself.

 

ELLE: Will there be a change after you have experienced Sulwhasoo?

TAEYEON: I got the feeling of my skin becoming softer and younger most of the time! Like the feeling of nicely applying a fresh cream on my face. ♥

 

ELLE: Sulwhasoo is progressing a brand campaign called ‘Beauty Grows’. The title seems to describe Taeyeon. As time goes by, you are getting more beautiful every time. What do you think about that? Every person has their own beauty in themselves. I want to ask of you, what part of yourself is considered as your own personal beauty?

TAEYEON: The beauty of me is the naturalness. Since birth, my personality seems to let everything flow like water and cannot stand contrived situations. The feeling of just being original and not overreacting but also not underacting according to the circumstances we face. Keeping calm and cool!
