Returning after 2 years and 3 months from her previous album, Taeyeon's 3rd original album expresses the complex feelings of love in a deeper narrative showcasing her mature side. It is different from a young, first love or a tragic, heartbreaking sad drama. Through a narrative that leads to one story, the feelings of love that Taeyeon showed are diverse and multi-sided as a character confused and frustrated from wanting her loved one too much but also provocative desiring that person.

 

The album consists of 13 songs of various genres, and includes the pre-released track 'Can't Control Myself' and single 'Weekend'.

 

The title song 'INVU' is a house-based pop dance song with a soft, dreamy synth and a flute melody in the chorus. The vocals deeply express the various emotions contained in the song and the colorful high notes showcase the storytelling of the song more dramatically. The lyrics express express Taeyeon's strong yet desperate 'Love Song' about sparing no time for someone in the name of 'Love', and how it feels to see someone different from herself. 

 

'그런 밤 (Some Nights)' is an attractive R&B ballad with dreamy vocals, combine with a calm guitar and piano. Taeyeon delicately expresses how a name comes to mind on an endlesss night, bringing forth a long lasting happy memory. 

 

'Set Myself on Fire' is a pop song that stimulates emotions with a vintage guitar. Taeyeon's affectionate vocals are well harmonized with lyrics that deny the reality of a lover who says goodbye, eventually predicting a break up. 

 

'어른아이 (Toddler)' is an exciting pop dance song with a base and disco rhythm. Taeyeon's rhythmical singing, which expresses the exciting vibe of the song, stands out. 

 

'Siren' is a medium tempo pop ballad song with an attractive sense of speed in the chorus and the mystery of a dreamy synth sound. The lyrics are inspired by the sirens in Greek and Roman mythology, who lead the person in love to destruction. 

 

'Cold As Hell' has a vibe that reverses from a chilly organ, violin, and vocal harmony to a powerful 808 bass drop. The lyrics describe the disappearing memories and emotions as a desolate place, coldly thrown at the other who can’t accept the breakup. 

 

'Timeless' is a synth-pop dance song with a retro sound and rhythm. Taeyeon's singing, which bursts with emotions at the climax, stands out. The lyrics depict how her heart will never change towards someone who always give her strength. 

 

'품 (Heart)' is an impressive pop ballad song with a dramatic progression, starting with a minimal guitar and an intense distorsion of bass and piano. The song contains a deep echo of Taeyeon's sincere vocals. 

 

'No Love Again' is an uptempo pop song with exciting guitar and drum sounds that gives a danceable vibe. The lyrics are about not wanting to fall in love, because when you start loving with anticipation, you end up hurt every time. 

 

'You Better Not' is a bright, exciting up-tempo pop song with a catchy chorus that repeats like a spell. The lyrics honestly express the heartbreaking relief and loss of a person who gave up everything love. 

 

'Weekend' is a disco pop song with a cheerful guitar and retro synth sounds. The lyrics express the desire to leave a repetitive daily life, and it includes a singing rap verse. 

 

'Ending Credits' is a medium tempo pop song with several layers of synthesizers and drums that enhance the emotions. Taeyeon's vocals harmonize with the lyrics to express a 'beautiful ending' like those in movies or plays.
